Quite a different style to the last home I was obsessing over! I love how Harper throws patterns together – she works with the most incredible textiles as owner of Proud Mary, and she has such a great eye. I have such romantic ideas about Charleston too, those old-fashioned ideals and rambling big houses … Hopefully I’ll get to visit one day.

Via the wonderful Freunde Von Freunden, my go-to spot for spying on the most amazing homes.

My collarbone is just calling out to be bedecked with some of these unusual cast brass pieces from Fort Standard. I’m loving the design of their online store too – plus I’d love to give some of those bottle openers and bangles a good home!

The other day I went out for Japanese with some friends, and watched in dismay as a lovely big soupy udon noodle escaped from my chopsticks, precariously fell onto my dress and then, slithering snake-like, found its way to the floor. Later on that night I was scooping out icecream with a little too much force and somehow it defied gravity to fly up and into my hair. I could’ve used my braid as a popsicle.

If only I’d seen these charming little illustrations then! They’re by the lovely Thoka Maer, aka Lisette Berndt, a Berlin-based illustrator behind the new Tumblr It’s No Biggie. I would’ve embraced the awkward, celebrated life’s little frustrations, and had a bit of a giggle.

After watching the very first episode of Boardwalk Empire last night (yet another HBO show that makes me want to give up my day job in favour of becoming a set designer or costume director), it seemed fitting that I stumble across these images today, of a treehouse speakeasy where the Krazy Kat Club hung out during the Prohibition. Can you imagine?

(Via Wolfeyebrows – what an amazing find!)
